On behalf of the Health Information Management (HIM) Club, I would like to wish you a happy Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) Week!! HIPS Week celebration is April 12th-18th, 2008. This is an invaluable awareness event which assures our communities that professionals in the health information management field take extraordinary measures to put health information in the right hands and keep it there. This year's theme for the week was “Protecting Information—It’s a Top Priority”. More information on HIPS Week can be found at www.ahima.org/hipsweek.
The HIM Club on campus celebrated the week by having a poster contest. Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Loralie Harper. Her creatively designed entry was the winner of the poster contest. She will receive a $10 gift certificate from the DSU bookstore!! Runner-up contest entry was submitted by Jordan Rott. He will be receiving a gift from the bookstore. There were 12 total submitted entries for the contest. A poster collage of the entries is on display in the Spectrum Lounge. The winning and runner-up entries will also be displayed at various buildings around campus.
