Tuesday, March 31, Noon in the Underground
Did you know human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery? Did you know there are ties between human trafficking and the pornography industry? Did you know human trafficking takes place in the United States? In South Dakota? Did you know that the poorest county in the United States is located in South Dakota?
These injustices and ones like them are all over our country. That's why Intervarsity is hosting a Justice Awareness Week from March 30 through April 3.
On Tuesday, March 31st we will be holding a justice awareness forum that covers issues from human trafficking to poverty. The forum will feature three speakers from the area:
* Annie Zirbel: National Interstate Oratory Competition qualifier and SDSU student with her speech titled "Modern Day Slavery in the United States"
* Rev. Susan Omanson: an abolitionist of modern day slavery speaking on poverty issues in South Dakota
* Justin DiRose: a DSU student speaking on the connection between pornography and human trafficking
There will be a question/answer session after the speakers. |
