The funeral for slain Turner County Deputy Sheriff Chad Mechels is scheduled for Wednesday, 3/18/09 at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. Dakota State University has been asked by law enforcement to use campus parking from 11am – 4pm from 9th Street north past the Fieldhouse. These areas would include the North Lot, DPP Lot, Fieldhouse Lots and all parking on North Washington Avenue. Vehicles will be parked two wide on the west side of Washington Ave. Madison PD will handle the re-routing of traffic. We are expecting 1000-1500 people attending this service.
DSU Parking program is requesting students who are parking in these areas to relocate during this time to allow parking for this event. Parking Policies will not be enforced except in ha
ndicap areas from 11am – 4pm. Thank you for your assistance in this during this very sad time for the Mechel family. |
