GAME JAM this weekend! Software, game, art, sound ... designers and creators of all sorts will gather for a frenetic burst of game creation. This Friday, January 30th, starting at 5:00pm until Sunday, February 2nd at 5:00pm, DSU will be one of 52 sites around the world hosting the Global Game Jam (http://globalgamejam.org). A game jam is a marathon (in this case, 48 hours) effort among pickup teams consisting of students, faculty, & professionals to put together a game matching the criteria specified (and not revealed until Friday evening) for the particular game jam. The initial meetings will take place in Room 100, East Hall, starting at 5:00pm. At 3:00pm on Sunday, in room 100, East Hall, teams will upload their games to the global game jam site, demonstrate them to other participants and celebrate! In between, groups will work frantically to build games matching the criteria. If you'd like to participate, contact Steve Graham ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , 605-480-6603) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Space is limited and you must confirm your registration with Dr. Graham before you can participate. Currently th e list includes DSU students and faculty, as well as participants from Sioux Falls, the Twin Cities, and Texas. |
