As a student registered at Dakota State University for a Fall 2008 course, you will be using the new course delivery tool Desire2Learn or D2L as it is often referred to. Desire2Learn (D2L) replaced WebCT beginning Summer 2008. Below is information that may be useful to you in getting familiar with D2L. All of your courses where the instructor is using D2L, no matter what SDBOR University is offering, will now be located on one D2L account. We hope this is more convenient to you the student to only login to one account instead of one for each university. You will receive a message to your home university student e-mail account regarding your temporary D2L password. This should be an obvious message with a subject line referr ing to D2L access information. Your home university student e-mail account is where information regarding your course will be sent. Your login for D2L has been decided for all SDBOR students the same as your WebAdvisor login. Please review the information below including tutorials, FAQ’s, a short overview video, Fall 2008 course syllabus, etc. One big change is that registered courses won’t appear on your D2L account until the first day of the class.
Please read the FAQ page first (http://support.dsu.edu/d2l/students/student_faq.htm) which includes: 1. What is D2L (Desire2Learn)? For video tutorials please view the following links:
Finally, students can find more support resources such as text documentation and tutorials from http://support.dsu.edu/d2l/ If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
