Standard ASA Softball rules and regulations will apply. Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 7th at 12:00pm. If you are graduating in May and haven’t started your job search, NOW is the time to begin! Many companies have already extended offers for full-time employment, so if you haven’t been applying or interviewing for jobs, contact Career Services asap to find out how you can learn about jobs that are available. Yesterday it was announced that a cross-section of surveyed U.S. employers “expect to hire nearly 22% fewer graduates from the Class of 2009” than they hired from the Class of 2008. This is the first time in a decade that companies haven’t reported a positive hiring projection, so we encourage you to start applying now so you aren’t one of the graduates who gets caught without a job! Now is the time students and families should be completing the 2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Federal financial aid this summer and next school year. The FAFSA is done online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You will need you Dept of Education PIN as your electronic signature, and you can sign up for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov if you do not have one or lost yours. Award letter packets for continuing students will start to go in the mail at the end of April and continue through the summer. Remember that the earlier you apply, the better financial aid package you will receive (depending on eligibility).

The DSU Career Service Association is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a FREE red parking spot on campus for the 2009-10 academic year. Any faculty or staff member may purchase raffle tickets at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. We will be drawing a winter at the CSA Spring Recognition Luncheon on May 20th. Last year’s inaugural winner was David Zolnowsky. Tickets are available from Melinda Fedeler in Heston Hall (Financial Aid Office) or Shannon Vostad in the Karl Mundt Library, and will be available for sale at the upcoming Baked Potato Luncheon April 9th and at the Spring Recognition Luncheon May 20th.
