For the third consecutive year, Dakota State University in Madison is the highest ranked public baccalaureate college in the Midwest according to U.S.News & World Report magazine’s annual analysis of “America’s Best Colleges 2009.” Dakota State is ranked first in the Top Public Baccalaureate Colleges in the Midwest region. In response to the ranking, Dakota State President Dr. Doug Knowlton stated, “I hope everyone associated with Dakota State, including our alumni, faculty/staff, students and all the citizens of South Dakota are proud of this ongoing recognition. Three years in succession we have been evaluated at this level by U.S. News and other universities in our region. To be recognized through this process as the best public university in our group is so gratifying. This is symbolic of the dynamic institution that is DSU!” |

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Dakota State University is broadening its outreach in high-tech computing with a new certificate program. University officials said the 12 credit-hour program is intended for individuals not currently enrolled in college who want to expand their computer science skills into high-performance computing. |

 Dakota State announces the hiring of Jesse Wise as Vice President of Student Affairs. Wise is currently the Dean of Student Life at Bowie State University in Bowie, MD, a position he has held since 2005. Prior to being named Dean, he served as director of student and resident life at Bowie State. Wise has prior experience as the area housing coordinator at Bowie, and as the coordinator of the peer mentoring program at University of Maryland in College Park, MD. |
