GAME JAM this weekend!

GAME JAM this weekend! Software, game, art, sound ... designers and creators of all sorts will gather for a frenetic burst of game creation.

This Friday, January 30th, starting at 5:00pm until Sunday, February 2nd at 5:00pm, DSU will be one of 52 sites around the world hosting the Global Game Jam (http://globalgamejam.org). A game jam is a marathon (in this case, 48 hours) effort among pickup teams consisting of students, faculty, & professionals to put together a game matching the criteria specified (and not revealed until Friday evening) for the particular game jam. The initial meetings will take place in Room 100, East Hall, starting at 5:00pm.

Walgreens will be on campus on Thursday, 2/5/09 to interview students from ALL majors for their management positions.  The positions are:  Management Trainee & Management Internship.  There is no GPA requirement but you must be a US Citizen.   For more information or to schedule a time to interview, stop in to DSU Career Services today.  Remember we will need your resume at the time you sign up for an interview.

Check this out!  Lawrence & Schiller will be on campus Tuesday, 2/3/09 to interview students majoring in Biology Info Systems, Computer Graphic Design, Computer Info Systems, Computer & Network Security, Computer Science, Digital Arts & Design, Math Info Systems, Multi-media Web and Application Programming.  If you have a 3.2 GPA and are seeking a full-time position or internship stop in to Career Services today to schedule a time to interview.   Career Services is located on the second floor in Heston Hall.  Remember to bring a copy of your resume with you.
 

Free DSU Information Session for the BIG Job Fair – TUESDAY

If you are looking for an internship, full-time position, or are curious about what the job market will look like when you graduate, plan now to attend the BIG Job Fair to be held on February 24th at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.    To learn more about the job fair, there will be a free information session on Tuesday, January 27th at noon in the Underground.   You can learn how to prepare, what to bring, what to say, what to wear, how to follow-up, and watch a brief video from last year’s job fair.   Handouts will also be available with helpful information.   If you want to convey a professional and polished image at the BIG Job Fair, this session is a must-attend!

Wal-Mart will be hosting an information session next Monday, February 2, 2009 at 5:00 in the Mundt Foundation.  Come and hear what Wal-Mart has to offer.  Right now Wal-mart is looking to fill Assistant Management trainee positions as well as Management internships.   If you are interested in either of these positions or would just like to hear more about the Wal-Mart company, plan to attend the information session.  Please sign up in the office of Career Services today.   The will be free food so please RSVP so there is enough for everyone.

The 19th Annual Business, Industry & Government (B.I.G.) Job Fair is quickly approaching!  Approximately 100 companies will gather at the Sioux Falls Convention Center on Tuesday, February 24th from 10:00am – 4:00pm to meet candidates interested in internships and/or full-time positions after graduation.   They have actual job opportunities available, so plan today to attend this exciting event!  

To help you prepare, the Office of Career Services is offering two free informational sessions for DSU students only:  Tuesday, January 27th & Wednesday, January 28th, from noon-1pm in the Underground.
