The funeral for slain Turner County Deputy Sheriff Chad Mechels is scheduled for Wednesday, 3/18/09 at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. Dakota State University has been asked by law enforcement to use campus parking from 11am – 4pm from 9th Street north past the Fieldhouse. These areas would include the North Lot, DPP Lot, Fieldhouse Lots and all parking on North Washington Avenue. Vehicles will be parked two wide on the west side of Washington Ave. Madison PD will handle the re-routing of traffic. We are expecting 1000-1500 people attending this service.

Attention DSU students, faculty, and staff, Student Senate is inviting you to a Formal Casino Night Fundraiser on March 19, 2009 in the TC underground. The event runs from 8pm to 1am. There will be free food and drinks. Music will be provided by FNL. Additional buy-in proceeds will go to the Lance Parliament Memorial Scholarship. Contact Lynn Ryan for more information The school is in a town in NE Thailand about 5 hours from Bangkok. Providing airfare and some cost of living plus a monthly salary. The salary doesn't add up to a lot by our standards, but would be more than enough to live on in Thailand. There are some housing possibilities also and a woman from Thailand who lives in Madison knows some people there that could assist a student interested in doing this job. The position begins in May. |

The tournament will be a double elimination and all games will be played at the Community Center. Monday, March 23rd will be the first rounds and then the tournament will conclude on Thursday, March 26th. There will be a women’s and a men’s division.
